Flare Tip: Creating a Project Template

Following is a forum posting I made in May 2006 about how to create a project template. Templates are the basis of creating anything in Flare.

In your \My Documents\My Templates folder, add a folder called Projects, then copy the project that you want to use as the template to that folder.

\My Documents\My Templates\Projects\templateprojectfile.flprj
\My Documents\My Templates\Projects\Content
\My Documents\My Templates\Projects\Project

Now select File > New Project, go to the third screen in the wizard, select My Templates, then select your project template. When you click next, you'll see any targets from the template project in the list of default outputs. When you click Finish, an exact duplicate of your template project is created.
